Project Description

Medway Hospital, Gillingham: Changing Places Toilet

Formation of a new concept Changing Places Toilet within the main Atrium at Medway Hospital. The new facility is an upgrade on the normal disabled toilet footprint and is one of the first to be added to a hospital in Kent.

The project was originally going to be built in the Atrium but due to drainage issues site was moved to an office area and extended into the Atrium.

This required the installation of new structural steel work to allow the removal of an hour rated fire safety wall. As part of the project the emergency alarm was configured so that it repeats on the main switchboard to ensure that assistance teams can be notified and attend.
